On the parchment are written the words of the Shema (Hear O Israel), the most important prayer in Jewish tradition. The parchment is 100% Kosher and is written by a certified scribe.

When inserting a parchment into a mezuzah, the parchment is rolled so that the name of God which is written on the back is on the outside. The parchment should then be placed in the mezuzah with the name of God facing frontward.
